August Issue

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Chaplin's Report

Well men it has not cooled down at all and here we are at the end of August, and the beginning of our busiest parade agenda.  I want all of you to bring plenty of fluids as we parade and keep yourself hydrated.  If any of you are not aware we lost a great Mason and past Shriner, not to mention a great brother this week.  John Downing passed away and if you all knew him, he will leave a large hole in our brotherhood.  I have been informed that the funeral service will be Saturday at 10:00AM, if any of you want to make the service, don't think twice about missing the Ringwood parade, you are excused and nothing will be said.

Mentioning parades here is our list of upcoming parades.  This Saturday September 3rd is the Ringwood parade, this is a 9:00AM show, 10:00AM go.  The next parade is Monday Cleo Springs September 5th, this is also a 9:00AM show, 10:00AM go.  Then our own Cherokee Strip parade here in Enid, September 17th, 9:00AM show, 10:00AM go, then the Wakita parade the same day 3:00PM show, 4:00PM go.  Then October 1st is the Helena parade this is a 9:00AM show, 10:00AM go.  October 8th Watonga Cheese Festival 10:30AM show, 11:30AM go.  You see we have plenty of parades coming up, also I know for the Helena parade some of you, as well as myself will be at Bikes, Blues, and Barbeque in Fayetteville, so I am placing Kelly Logan in charge of this parade, so if you have questions on the parade call Kelly.  I know some of you have asked about a steak night or cookout, guys I am holding out for cooler weather, I know it's got to be coming someday, I just don't want people trying to sit through this heat.  Well that is all for this month, may the good Lord watch over each of you.  Till next month take care and watch the heat.

Yours in Christ
Enid Shrine Club, President
"Big" Jack Kehnemund
